With RAPID+TCT fast approaching, we think that GE Additive will be showcasing their investments into additive manufacturing at the event, and attendees will be very interested to see what has been accomplished since the acquisition of Concept Laser and Arcam. Autodesk, Inc. (NASDAQ: ADSK), the global software company, has reported final quarter and full year results for the year ended January 31, 2017. The company has continued to make progress during their business model transition, however while gross revenue remained above $2 billion, this represents a year-on-year decline of $473 million. Last year, HP became one of the most interesting companies in the 3D printing world, as it unveiled and began shipping an entirely new additive manufacturing (AM) technology known as Multi Jet Fusion (MJF). Developments for the business continues and now they will be opening a materials marketplace. Great to hear these developments. From our Salary Survey, we were able to deduce that wages are expected to rise for the next five years! Whilst the number of trainees will be limited, and there are stark differences between salaries across regions, employers will be looking to hook the best talent in AM with increased and more competitive salary packages. The disparity in salary is greatest within the Sales Discipline in AM, where U.S. wages can be even 50% more than their counterparts In Europe! A sabbatical is a period away from work, agreed with your employer. The word is sometimes used interchangeably with 'career break' or 'adult gap year', but the specific feature about a sabbatical is that you will come back to the same job.
